Planning a Cookie Swap!

Have you ever hosted a cookie swap at your home?  I have, and it was so much fun!  I enjoyed everything about all of the work leading up to the swap.  Last year, I prepared 3 different kinds of soup, and some homemade bread, and of course, dessert.  The women from my Sunday School class had such a good time fellow-shipping around the dining room table.  After we ate and talked a while, the swap began.   I placed all of the cookies on the dining room table, and I had a container for each lady there.  We walked around the table, each taking a predetermined number of cookies from each tray.  It all depends on how many women came to the swap, and how many cookies they brought.  I'm sure there's an exact science to calculating the numbers, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet :)   It didn't matter though.  After everyone took 3 cookies, we just kept walking around the table, taking a cookie here and there until all of the cookies had been distributed.

Check out these pictures of cookie swap materials that can be purchased from Etsy.  These pictures are from Wonderfullymadeevents.com and I just love how she used a mix of vintage items in her displays.
